Jacques Merat

Jacques Merat is an experienced professional in social coordination, governance, and development, currently serving as an Assistant Social - Coordinateur d'asile at ORS Group since July 2022, managing social support for 120 individuals benefitting from protection status or seeking asylum. Prior to this, Jacques held various significant positions at Helvetas, including Senior Consultant Governance and Program Manager, where expertise in decentralization and local governance was applied across several countries in Africa and Asia. Previous roles at organizations such as Caritas Suisse and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation further highlighted skills in emergency response, public finance management, and citizen participation. Jacques also served as Country Director for INTERTEAM in Colombia, and Director at Caritas Internationalis, driving initiatives to assist internally displaced populations.
