Jonathan Foster

Jonathan Foster serves as Lead IP Counsel at Ørsted since October 2023, managing a broad range of intellectual property tasks within a global renewable energy organization. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a global IP strategy, overseeing a patent portfolio, and advising on various contracts and agreements. Prior roles encompass Senior IP Counsel and IP Counsel within in-house advisory settings, alongside a tenure as Chartered UK & European Patent Attorney at Appleyard Lees IP LLP. Jonathan has contributed to professional bodies such as the Institute of Physics and the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, and has extensive tutoring experience in Physics and Maths. Academic qualifications feature a PhD from the University of Leeds and multiple certifications from the European Patent Academy.
