Brenda J. Burke

Dr. Brenda Burke is a board certified rheumatologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and other diseases of the joints, bones, and muscles. After graduating medical school from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed 3 years of residency training in internal medicine in addition to 2 years of fellowship training in rheumatology at Roger Williams Medical Center. She treats a broad base of rheumatologic disease including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematous, Sjogren’s Syndrome, gout, myositis, polymyalgia rheumatica, and other type of connective tissue diseases.

Dr. Burke’s love of rheumatology stems first and foremost from her patients, whose courage and perseverance are qualities she believes everyone can learn and grow from. She finds the challenge of rheumatology rewarding – while excellent treatment options exist for many rheumatologic diseases, they are often difficult to diagnose. Dr. Burke also prizes the collaborative nature of her practice, as teamwork results in better outcomes for her patients.
