Co-Founder at ORTHOSON Ltd

Christian Coviello co-founded OxSonics Therapeutics in 2014 and served as the Chief Technology Officer. Christian led a team of engineers and consultants in developing the SonoTran combination medical device for enhanced drug delivery into solid tumors. Christian was responsible for technology development, IP product strategy, team management, overall design of hardware and software, product testing planning, and regulatory document submission. Coviello successfully led the design and manufacture of the prototype OxSonics SonoTran ultrasound platform and the development of the first triple-modality ultrasound probe for cavitation-enhanced drug delivery. Christian also developed real-time implementation of passive acoustic mapping and designed a cavitation test apparatus. In addition to their role at OxSonics Therapeutics, Coviello co-founded ORTHOSON Ltd in 2016. Prior to these ventures, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, University of Oxford, where they researched targeted drug delivery using ultrasound technology. Christian also worked as a Senior Scientist at SAIC, conducting signal and image processing research. Early in their career, Coviello served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory, conducting research in underwater adaptive signal processing.

Christian Coviello has an extensive education history in the field of Electrical Engineering. Christian attended Bucknell University from 1996 to 2000, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering. After graduating from Bucknell, Christian pursued further education at Penn State University from 2000 to 2005. Christian obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in an undisclosed field of study.

In addition to their academic degrees, Christian Coviello holds a certification called the Home Office Personal License (PIL), which was granted by the UK Home Office in 2011. However, specific details regarding the timing of obtaining this certification are not provided.
