Founded in 1918, Ortofon has worked with engineering, acoustics, and sound reproduction for more than a century.

Today, Ortofon A/S is a Danish fine-mechanical company dedicated to developing, manufacturing, and marketing high-performance phono cartridges for music lovers and professionals worldwide. 

The company is privately owned and employs around 130 people across engineering, production, and business functions. Our manufacturing facility in Nakskov, Denmark, combines experienced operators, engineers, and technicians with modern, high-precision machinery - bringing together craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing.

In recent years, the renewed global interest in vinyl records has brought new momentum to the audio industry. As more listeners engage with the format, expectations for precision, consistency, and authentic sound reproduction continue to grow.
