Chin Soon Lim is an experienced project manager and senior project engineer with a strong background in overseeing engineering services and project execution across various phases. At ORYX GTL since July 2014, Chin has managed detailed engineering services and led projects from initial definition through to startup, including safety studies and independent reviews. Prior experience includes roles at Exterran, where Chin managed the EPCM of an LPG Cryogenic Recovery Plant in Pakistan, and at McDermott International, leading significant offshore projects in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, earlier experience at Rotary Engineering involved managing the EPIC of petrochemical storage facilities in Singapore. Chin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, completed in 2005.

ORYX GTL is a Private Shareholding Company. It is a joint venture between QatarEnergy, with 51% shareholding and Sasol Middle East and India (SMEI), with 49% shareholding. It is a downstream oil and gas company located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar. The company has expertise in the production of gas-to-liquids (GTL) products, operating within the energy and industry sector in Qatar. ORYX GTL’s has been producing high-quality GTL products, since 2006 by converting natural gas supplied from Qatar’s North Gas Field into synthetic gas, and ultimately into liquid hydrocarbons using innovative gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology – the Sasol Slurry Phase DistillateTM (Sasol SPDTM) Process. The final GTL products consist of ultra-low sulphur GTL Diesel used as a blending component in transport fuel, GTL Naphtha used as feedstock in petrochemical manufacturing, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), used as a heating fuel.
