Oryx Impact
Lisa Hehenberger is an accomplished academic and professional with significant expertise in social impact and venture philanthropy. Currently serving as the Director of the Esade Center for Social Impact and Associate Professor at Esade, Lisa also leads the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute. In addition, Lisa holds positions as Impact Advisor for BlackRock’s Fundamental Equity Impact portfolio management team, Chief Impact Advisor at Oryx Impact, and Board Member for GSMA Mobile for Development Foundation Inc. Lisa's extensive contributions to social entrepreneurship include serving on the Scientific Board of the OECD Global Action Promoting Social and Solidarity Economy Ecosystems and as a member of the European Commission's Expert Group on Social Business. Lisa has earned a Ph.D. in Management from IESE Business School and an M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from Stockholm School of Economics, further enriched by participation in an exchange program at HEC Paris.

Oryx Impact is an impact investment firm dedicated to investing capital into the African continent to generate local and regional jobs and economic development, mitigate climate change and promote gender equality, while generating attractive financial returns. Oryx Impact unlocks growth opportunities in Africa and increases private capital flows by investing in funds with strong local presence and networks and by seeking co-investments into companies, ultimately providing growth capital to SMEs and businesses generating essential goods and services. Oryx Impact applies a gender lens at SME and fund level, proactively seeking women-led management teams that in turn are more likely to invest in female-led businesses. Oryx Impact fosters the eco-system of impact fund managers investing in Africa, with a substantial focus on local, women-led and emerging fund managers. For that purpose, Oryx Impact will support emerging funds with a Technical Assistance (TA) facility to professionalize ESG and Impact measurement and management (IMM) practices.
