Platform Leader Of Biochemistry And Assay Development at Oryzon Genomics

Gerard Minuesa is a highly experienced professional in the field of biochemistry and assay development, currently serving as the Platform Leader at Oryzon Genomics SA since December 2022. Prior to this role, Gerard was a Research Scientist at Moirai Biodesign, focusing on RNA-based diagnostics and therapeutics, where novel 'Plug & Play RNA' technology was developed for bacterial and viral detection. Previous experiences include positions as a Research Associate and Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, as well as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, where research concentrated on antiviral drug disposition and resistance. Gerard holds a PhD in Immunology & Cell Biology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where foundational research on retrovirology was conducted, along with an earlier B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the same institution. Additionally, a predoctoral stay at the University of Würzburg contributed to research on HIV NRTI uptake mechanisms.
