Richard Arata

Richard Arata has over 27 years of work experience. Richard started their career as the Director of Project Management at Telvent Miner & Miner in 1993 and held that role until 2007. During this time, they gained expertise in project management in the GIS industry.

In 2007, Richard worked at PG&E as a Configuration Co-Lead for the GIS Project, where they were responsible for configuring the ArcFM/ArcGIS system for gas, electric, and land. Richard also managed system testing, data migration, data modeling, and configuration of the proposed system during iterative release cycles.

Later in 2007, Richard joined Accenture as a Senior Manager in the ASNA and HPAM groups. In this role, they managed and implemented solution offerings for utility companies.

From 2007 to 2008, Richard worked at Sempra Energy as the GIS Data Model and Applications Lead, where they played a key role in developing GIS data models and applications.

In 2008, Richard joined New Century Software as the Distribution Practice Manager. During their time there, they developed solutions for gas distribution utilities through product enhancement and the development of new data and risk models. Richard also deployed the DIMP package and created a standardized gas distribution model.

Most recently, Richard has been working at Osceola Consulting as a Senior Utilities GIS Consultant since 2010.

Richard Arata attended UCLA from 1977 to 1979, where they received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Richard later pursued further education at Utah State University from 1996 to 1998, earning a Master of Social Science degree in Economics.
