Damaris Gutierrez

Community Actions Services Director at OSCEOLA COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING INC

Damaris is the Community Action Services Director and works with the financial assistance programs of the agency to support our low-to-moderate income clients. She oversees the LIHEAP and Building Strong Families Programs, that have processed many utility assistances, and helped countless families in moving from homelessness or transitional housing, to stable housing as well as preventing evictions.

Damaris earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Corporación Universitaria de la Costa in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her last position held in her native Colombia was as Regional Director in an international travel software company. Her family moved to Osceola County almost 17 years ago, when she started her journey in community services, volunteering in her church and in her children’s schools. Her social work began at a free clinic, assisting its volunteers and low-income, uninsured population. Ever since then, she has devoted her career to help those in need. Damaris joined the Osceola Council on Aging seven years ago and through the different positions she has held in the agency, she has demonstrated her interest in helping those that need it most.
