Petros Fortsakis has a diverse background in engineering and technology. Petros co-founded and served as the Head of Modelling at OSeven Telematics, a company focused on insurance telematics and driving behavioral analytics. Petros also worked as a Tunnel Expert at DB International GmbH, where they managed design submissions for various metro lines in Qatar. As a Senior Tunnel Engineer at Dr SAUER & PARTNERS LTD, they were involved in the design of underground caverns for the Ottawa Light Rail Project. Additionally, they provided scientific and administrative support at Springer Science+Business Media and worked as a Tunnel and Geotechnical Engineer at ODOTECHNIKI LTD. Petros has also worked as an independent consultant for geotechnical and structural design projects. Petros has experience as a researcher and teaching assistant at the National Technical University of Athens and has also worked as a Tunnel Engineer at ATTIKO METRO. Petros started their career as a Civil Engineer intern at Locher Ingenieure AG.

Petros Fortsakis completed their education in a chronological order. Petros started their academic journey at the National Technical University of Athens, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from 1999 to 2004. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Structural Engineering between 2004 and 2006. Building upon their solid foundation, Petros then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from 2005 to 2012, specializing in Tunnelling, Computational Mechanics, and Risk Assessment. Throughout their education, Petros Fortsakis focused on various areas within the field of engineering, ranging from civil engineering to structural engineering and finally to their PhD research.
