Matthew Oleniuk

Matthew Oleniuk has a diverse and extensive work experience. Matthew recently served as the Chief Audit Executive at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada. In this role, they oversaw internal audits of financial and IT controls, regulatory bodies, grant programs, and policy functions.

Prior to this, Oleniuk worked as the Director of Internal Audit at Innovation, Science and Economic Development, where they managed the internal audit directorate for a federal government portfolio department. Matthew led annual risk-based audit planning and provided advisory services for multi-billion-dollar projects.

Additionally, Oleniuk worked part-time as an Instructor at the Canada School of Public Service, where they delivered training sessions to public service professionals on various topics such as internal audit, risk management, project management, and financial management.

Matthew also served as a Special Advisor at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, where they acted as a subject matter expert in an Enterprise Program Management Office, overseeing back-office service transformation projects across the government.

Earlier in their career, Oleniuk held the position of Audit Principal at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, where they led an international internal audit portfolio and managed the branch's corporate functions.

Matthew also has experience at the Office of the Comptroller General of Canada, where they managed government-wide audits and led multiple departmental audit teams.

Before their work in government, Oleniuk had several overseas contract employment roles, providing project and financial administration services in various locations and teaching English in South Korea.

Matthew Oleniuk has a Master's Certificate in Project Management from Sprott (MCPM), which they obtained in 2013. Matthew also holds a Bachelor's degree in Film/Video and Photographic Arts from York University, which they completed between 1995 and 1998. In addition, they studied Film/Cinema/Video Studies at Brock University from 1994 to 1995.
