Steve Aguirre

Steve Aguirre has a diverse work experience in the field of risk management and internal audit. Steve has held various positions with different companies, including the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada, Ontario Internal Audit Division, Intact, PwC Canada, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and PROMARISCO S.A. (GRUPO PESCANOVA).

Their roles have included responsibilities such as principal analyst, senior IT audit specialist, IT audit manager, manager of risk assurance services, senior associate, and internal control head. Steve has experience in areas such as operational risk management, third-party risk management, IT general controls, IT project reviews, client service delivery, IT audit planning, and process improvement. Steve has also been involved in recruitment, coaching, and management of IT audit staff.

Steve Aguirre earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria between 2006 and 2008. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a focus on Information Technology at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral from 2002 to 2005. Steve also holds several certifications in the field, including CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (obtained in December 2018), CGEIT - Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (obtained in December 2013), and CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor (obtained in December 2010).
