Brian Thiessen

Brian Thiessen, K.C. is a seasoned legal professional and civic leader currently serving as the candidate for Mayor of Calgary and the leader of the Calgary Party since October 2024. With extensive experience in law, Thiessen has been a partner and managing partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP since March 2016, engaged in several committees including operations and compensation. Previously, Thiessen held leadership roles on the Calgary Police Commission and served as a board member for the Calgary Police Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta. With a foundational legal education from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor's degree from Queen's University, Thiessen's expertise encompasses employment and privacy law, supported by certifications in human resources and information privacy.
