Shirin Fallahtafti has a diverse work experience that showcases their expertise in various fields. Shirin started their career as a Customer Service Representative at The Washington Ballet and RBC Royal Bank from 2002 to 2004. Shirin then worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Queen's University from 2008 to 2011, where they gained extensive knowledge in water and tissue sample analysis and toxicity bioassays. After that, Shirin served as a Regulatory and Environmental Specialist at Sanjel Corporation from 2011 to 2016. In this role, they acted as an in-house subject matter expert, consulting on environmental performance improvement and liaising with regulatory bodies. In 2016, they briefly worked as an Occupational Hygienist at Golder. Currently, they are employed at OSP, where they have held the positions of Product Line Manager from 2018 to 2022 and currently serves as the Director of Corporate Services.

Shirin Fallahtafti pursued their education at Queen's University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biochemistry (B.Sc.) from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they continued their academic journey at Queen's University, earning a Master's of Environmental Studies (M.E.S) with a specialization in Aquatic Toxicology from 2009 to 2011.

In addition to their educational background, Shirin Fallahtafti has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional expertise. Shirin became an EP (Environmental Professional) with specializations in Sustainability, Research and Development, and Health and Safety, which was awarded by ECO Canada in August 2015. Moreover, they also hold a certification as a Safety Data Sheet Registered Professional, obtained from the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) in June 2020.
