Ilkka Sirén has a diverse range of work experience as a freelance writer in the wine industry. Ilkka has worked for various companies such as Otavamedia, VICE Media, Decanter, Eater, Meininger's Wine Business International, BBC, Viinilehti Oy, The Drinks Business, and Condé Nast International. Ilkka has written for these organizations on a freelance basis, starting in 2015 with Otavamedia and continuing to the present with Condé Nast International. In addition to their writing work, Sirén has also served as a judge at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2013.
Ilkka Sirén attended the University of Helsinki from 2007 to 2010, where they studied Plant Production Science. In addition to their university education, they obtained the Intermediate Certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in June 2007 and the Advanced Certificate in June 2008. Ilkka also became an Official Sherry Educator certified by the Consejo Regulador de Jerez de la Frontera in October 2011.
