Cid Gusmao

Cid Gusmao is a highly experienced medical professional with over 25 years of experience in the field. In 1994, they began their career as the Coordenador do Centro de Oncologia at the Hospital 9 de Julho. In 2009, they were appointed as M\u00e9dico Oncologista at the Instituto do C\u00e2ncer do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo (ICESP). In 2011, they were appointed as the Coordenador do Centro de Oncologia at HCOR. In 1992, they founded and was appointed as the Diretor Presidente of the Centro de Combate ao C\u00e2ncer (CCC). Under their leadership, the CCC became one of the most respected and influential oncology treatment centers in Brazil, focusing on high-quality treatment and patient safety. In 2009, the CCC was awarded the Acreditado com Excel\u00eancia seal from the ONA, the highest quality healthcare certification in Brazil. In 2010, the CCC became the first outpatient oncology service in the world to receive the healthcare quality certification from Accreditation Canada, and in 2014, it was awarded the quality certification from the Joint Commission International, the two most prestigious healthcare accreditors in the world. In 2019, they co-founded OTAWA Health, a Brazilian healthtech with the mission of transforming oncology care through a multidisciplinary Electronic Oncology Record with Clinical Decision Support. Cid also co-founded OnixCann Cannabis Medicinal, a Brazilian distribution group of medicinal cannabis that connects patients with doctors, following strict clinical protocols and international standards, with the aim of bringing to Brazil the most modern Cannabis Medicinal ecosystem in the world. In 2019, they also became a founding member of the Conselho T\u00e9cnico Cient\u00edfico of the Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional de Centros de Oncologia e Hematologia (ONCOH).

Cid Gusmao completed a Doctor of Medicine - MD from Universidade Gama Filho in 1986, followed by a Medical Residency in Medical Oncology Residency Program from Instituto Nacional de Cancer INCA in 1990. In 2010, they attended Harvard Medical School for Principles and Practice of Clinical Research. Most recently, they earned a Master's degree in Professional Master Degree in Competitiveness Management - Health Line, Administration and Business from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2021.
