Joel McGinnis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Joel is currently working as a Lead Engineer at OtherSide Entertainment since 2022. Prior to joining OtherSide Entertainment, they held positions at Survios as a Technical Director from 2021 to 2022 and as a Principal Engineer from 2017 to 2021. Joel also worked at CCP as a Technical Director from 2010 to 2017. Before that, they held the role of Senior Programmer at Radical Entertainment from 2007 to 2010 and at Codemasters from 2006 to 2007. At the start of their career, they worked as a Software Engineer at High-Voltage Software from 2004 to 2006 and at Northrop Grumman as a Software Engineer from 2002 to 2003.

Joel McGinnis obtained a Master's degree in Information, Design & Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2002.
