Maria Ghetea

Maria Ghetea is an experienced professional with a long-standing career at OTP Bank Romania S.A., having held the position of Operations Director since September 2005 and previously serving as the Manager of the International Department. Key responsibilities include managing and coordinating back-office transactions across multiple areas, optimizing payment workflows, and ensuring compliance with international legislative requirements. A proven leader in project implementation, Maria has successfully overseen significant advancements such as the SEPA Scheme and the PSD2 Directive. Additionally, Maria served as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Foundation OTP Bank Romania, promoting CSR initiatives and financial education. Prior to OTP Bank, Maria held banking positions at RoBank and Anglo-Romanian Bank, building a strong foundation in foreign currency payments and correspondent banking activities. Maria Ghetea holds a Licenta degree in Marketing from Academia de Studii Economice din București.
