Hossain Saboonchi

Hossain Saboonchi currently serves as the Director of Data Science and Advanced Analytics at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) since July 2021. From September 2015 to June 2021, Hossain held the position of Research and Development Manager at MISTRAS Group, Inc., where responsibilities included managing research projects in the NDT field and forming a data analytics group focused on applying AI/ML methods to monitoring data. Hossain also served as a Sensor Scientist at MISTRAS, overseeing the design and manufacturing of advanced AE and Ultrasonic transducers. Earlier academic roles included Research/Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago from January 2011 to August 2015, focusing on MEMS-based sensors for structural health monitoring. Hossain's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, along with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Yazd University.
