James Zhang has held various roles in the pharmaceutical and medical industries. From 1990 to 1998, they worked as an Assistant Professor and Director of Nuclear Physics and Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where they taught radiological physics and medical imaging. James then joined Wyeth-Ayerst Global Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Director, overseeing internal medicine and oncology in the Asia/Pacific region. From 2001 to 2007, James served as the Director of Corporate Medical Planning and Management at Bracco Diagnostics, where they were responsible for global medical market trials and providing medical expertise for risk/benefit assessments. James then joined Siemens as the Head of Global Clinical Development, leading molecular imaging biomarker research and successfully filing several new compounds with the FDA. Since 2011, James has been working at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) as the Head of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs.

James Zhang obtained their MD degree in Medicine and Bioengineering from Shanghai first medical college/Fudan University from 1979 to 1984. James pursued a degree in Nuclear Engineering with a focus on Radialogic Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1990. Later, from 1998 to 2000, they completed an EMBA in Business Management from Temple University.
