Michael Gibbons

Michael Gibbons has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Michael is currently working as the Executive Director of Global Product Quality at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) since 2022. Previously, they served as the Executive Director and Head of Quality at Avanir Pharmaceuticals from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Director and Head of Quality at BlackThorn Therapeutics from 2018 to 2020.

Earlier in their career, Michael Gibbons held the position of Director of QA GxP Operations at Intarcia Therapeutics, Inc. from 2016 to 2018. Before that, they worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Nandmix from 2015 to 2016, where they oversaw all quality functions and ensured compliance with ISO 13485.

Michael Gibbons also has extensive experience at Novartis, where they held various positions including Head of QA Operations from 2013 to 2015, GMP Officer (Associate Director) in Quality Assurance from 2008 to 2013, and Manufacturing Manager from 2006 to 2008. Prior to joining Novartis, they worked at Chiron as a Manufacturing Manager from 2002 to 2006, a Purification Supervisor from 1999 to 2002, and a Manufacturing Associate from 1994 to 1999.

Throughout their career, Michael Gibbons has demonstrated their expertise in quality management, compliance, and operational excellence.

Michael Gibbons attended UC Santa Barbara, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology with an emphasis in Genetic Engineering.
