Cheryl Beam

Cheryl Beam currently serves as Plant Manager for Wastewater Facilities - Remote Stations and Program Manager for Water Distribution Operations with the City of Ottawa since February 2023. Additionally, Cheryl holds the position of Vice President and Technical Director for the Ontario Municipal Water Association, where involvement includes co-chairing a lead working group that prepared a position paper on lead. Prior experience includes a role as Program Lead for the Water and Wastewater Task Force in the City of Greater Sudbury from September 2009 to February 2023, focusing on inflow and infiltration reduction and community-based water conservation initiatives. Cheryl also served as Manager of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection for the City of Greater Sudbury, overseeing extensive water distribution and wastewater systems and leading a team of approximately 60 employees. Earlier career highlights include working as a Process Engineer at Vale, involved in Environmental R&D, and as a Program Assistant at Shad Valley International, mentoring high school students in engineering. Cheryl holds a B. Eng Soc in Chemical Engineering and Society from McMaster University.
