Emily Dykhuizen is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Public Defender for Ottawa County since May 2019. Previously, Emily held the position of Title Examiner at Western Land Services, Inc. from February 2018 to April 2019, and completed a Judicial Externship at Kent County under Judges Hillary and Gardner in 2017. Emily also gained experience as a Legal Intern at Kent County Prosecutor's Office Juvenile Division. Academically, Emily holds a Master of Laws in Homeland Security and a Doctor of Law from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, as well as an MBA in Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Baker College. Emily is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Cybersecurity at Baker College.
