Drake Furey is an experienced in-game host and educator with a diverse background in sports and entertainment. Currently serving as an In-Game Host for Toledo Walleye and Toledo Mud Hens since March 2022, Drake engages fans through promotions and gameday activities. As a Chain Crew member with the Mid-American Conference and a Gameday Energy Squad member for the Detroit Lions, Drake ensures smooth game operations and enhances fan experiences. Additionally, Drake has experience as a substitute teacher in Ottawa Hills Local Schools, alongside roles as a public address announcer and play-by-play broadcaster for local high school sports. With a Bachelor of Education degree in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University, Drake combines a passion for sports with a dedication to education.

Located in the Village of Ottawa Hills in northwest Ohio, Ottawa Hills Local Schools is a high-performing school district of about 1,050 students. We are the only school district in Ohio to receive all A’s for five consecutive years on the state Department of Education’s School Report Card. Our Junior/Senior High School and Elementary School also received overall grades of “A” on this year’s Report Card. U.S. News & World Report this year ranked the high school No. 1 overall in the state as well as No. 1 for STEM subjects.
