Cindy Embury-Mulhern is an experienced educator with a focus on early childhood development. Currently serving as an Educator at the Ottawa Safety Council since August 2017, Cindy delivers walk safe presentations to elementary school students. From September 2012 to June 2016, Cindy worked as a Toddler Directress at Orchardview Montessori School, responsible for the Infant-Toddler program, and previously held the position of Caregiver/Educator from September 2011 to June 2012. Cindy began the educational journey in the field as a Toddler Assistant at Bishop Hamilton Montessori School from August 2006 to June 2011. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law from Carleton University and a Certificate in Small Business Administration/Management from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.

The Ottawa Safety Council's mission is to deliver best-in-class road safety programs and services, education, training and awareness throughout our community to drive down the number of road incidents in our community Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, The root of all we do is delivering programs that prevent road accidents for all road users, no matter how traveled We deliver curriculum based pedestrian and bike safety programs in Elementary schools, ensure school zone safety through our adult crossing guards at over 200 locations, promote active lifestyles through the walking school bus program and teach children how to cycle safely. We have been delivering our motorcycle instruction programs, and licensing riders on behalf of MTO for over 50 years. We even protect our most vulnerable riders through our Best Fit car seat program. Our passion lies in advocating for road safety and sharing best practices that reduce accidents and raise awareness across all ages; and the role we can all play in driving, walking and riding safely.
