Moyra Lauziere has a diverse professional background with extensive experience in management and community support. Currently serving as a Presenter and Volunteer Support at HealthPartners since April 2019, Moyra also plays an active role as an Adult Crossing Guard with the Ottawa Safety Council since March 2018, previously engaging in bike rodeos and school presentations. Volunteering with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Ecology Ottawa since 2012, Moyra has dedicated time to community service. Prior experience includes various management roles within the Federal Government of Canada from January 1977 to January 2010, including a position as Program Manager at Service Canada from 2007 to 2010. Moyra holds a Certificate in Dental Hygiene/Hygienist from Université du Québec en Outaouais and has pursued further education at multiple institutions, including Ecole secondaire Notre Dame, Hillcrest High School, and the University of Waterloo.

The Ottawa Safety Council's mission is to deliver best-in-class road safety programs and services, education, training and awareness throughout our community to drive down the number of road incidents in our community Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, The root of all we do is delivering programs that prevent road accidents for all road users, no matter how traveled We deliver curriculum based pedestrian and bike safety programs in Elementary schools, ensure school zone safety through our adult crossing guards at over 200 locations, promote active lifestyles through the walking school bus program and teach children how to cycle safely. We have been delivering our motorcycle instruction programs, and licensing riders on behalf of MTO for over 50 years. We even protect our most vulnerable riders through our Best Fit car seat program. Our passion lies in advocating for road safety and sharing best practices that reduce accidents and raise awareness across all ages; and the role we can all play in driving, walking and riding safely.
