James Stake

James Stake has a diverse work experience spanned across multiple industries and roles. James started their career at 3M in 1974 as a Product Development Engineer and later held various assignments in Medical and Surgical Products until 1993. From 1993 to 1997, they served as the Managing Director of 3M Venezuela, followed by a role as Managing Director of 3M Italy from 1997 to 1999. James then joined 3M headquarters where they became the Division VP for Industrial Tapes/Packaging Systems from 1999 to 2002, and subsequently served as an Executive Vice President until 2008. Alongside their tenure at 3M, they had additional positions at Twin Cities Public Television as a Board of Trustees member from 2002 and at Carlson School of Management as an Adjunct Professor for Leadership from 2008. In the same year, they joined Otter Tail Corporation and Ativa Medical as a Director, and in 2008, they also joined C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. in the same capacity.

James Stake attended Purdue University from 1970 to 1974, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they joined The Wharton School in 1978 and completed an MBA degree in Finance in 1979.
