James Sabry is the Chief Business Officer and EVP at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., a role they began in 2024. Previously, they served as the Global Head of Pharma Partnering and a member of the Corporate Executive Committee at Roche from 2018 to 2024, and as Senior Vice President of Genentech Partnering from 2010 to 2018. They were also the President and CEO of Arete Therapeutics and co-founded Cytokinetics, where they served as CEO and remain on the scientific advisory board. James holds an M.D. from Queen's University and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Francisco, and has held various leadership positions on boards and councils throughout their career.
