Gesche Joost

Gesche Joost currently serves as Präsidentin des Goethe-Instituts, having held the position since January 2023. Joost is also Vizepräsidentin and holds multiple board and director roles, including Aufsichtsratsmitglied at Bank für Sozialwirtschaft AG, Ottobock, and ING, along with her position as Gesellschafterin at Calliope gGmbH. In academia, Joost is Wissenschaftliche Direktorin at Design Research Lab at Universität der Künste, Berlin, and the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), where Joost leads the research group on interactive textiles. Additionally, Joost holds a professor position at Universität der Künste Berlin and is a Vorstand member at the Einstein Center Digital Future. Joost earned a Diplom in Design from KISD and a Ph.D. in Rhetorik from the University of Tübingen.
