Ilpo Virtanen

Ilpo Virtanen is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in physics and data science. Currently serving as Principal Lecturer at Oulu University of Applied Sciences since August 2021, Ilpo previously worked as a Data Scientist at Fingersoft from November 2019 to July 2021. Prior to that, Ilpo held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu from June 2008 to December 2019, where responsibilities included project coordination for the ReSoLVE Centre of Excellence in Research on Solar Long-term Variability and Effects. Ilpo Virtanen holds a Docent degree in Physics attained in 2019, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics completed in 2013, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics earned in 2008, all from the University of Oulu.
