Fiona Grimm's work experience begins in 2013 as an Intern at BiognoSYS AG, where they worked on Proteomics Research & Development. In 2017, they joined The Francis Crick Institute as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Cancer metabolism lab, specializing in studying the influence of the tumor microenvironment on metabolic reprogramming of cancer cells. During their time there, they developed tools in R for metabolomics data analysis, implemented an interactive analysis pipeline using Shiny, and used Python for Empirical Bayesian modeling. Fiona also supervised and trained junior lab members and presented their work at conferences. In 2018, Fiona became a Data Science Fellow at Science to Data Science. Starting from 2018, they also worked at The Health Foundation in various roles, including Senior Data Analyst, Principal Data Analyst, and Senior Analytical Manager. Currently, Fiona is the Head of Data Operations at Our Future Health UK, starting in 2023.
Fiona Grimm has an extensive education history in the field of biology and biochemistry. Fiona began their academic journey in 2008 at ETH Zurich, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology, focusing on biochemistry. Continuing their studies, Fiona completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree at ETH Zurich between 2011 and 2013, further specializing in biochemistry.
Afterward, Fiona embarked on a Ph.D. program at UCL, The Francis Crick Institute, starting in 2013. During their time there, they focused on Cancer Metabolism Lab and successfully completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2017. This educational background highlights Fiona's commitment to the study of biochemistry and their dedication to pursuing advanced degrees in the field.
