Jess Decourcy Hinds

Jess deCourcy Hinds is a School Library Media Specialist at Our World Neighborhood Charter Schools since April 2024 and an Adjunct Lecturer at Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Studies since August 2022, specializing in children's literature. Previous roles include serving as a School Librarian at PS/MS 149 The Sojourner Truth School and working as a Freelance Writer, focusing on books, culture, education, and topics such as feminism and LGBTQ families. Hinds also has extensive experience as a Library Director at Bard High School Early College Queens, where responsibilities included founding the library and managing grants and resources. Additional experience includes multiple adjunct lecturer positions at CUNY institutions and a year-long fellowship with Pen Parentis, Ltd. Jess holds an MSLIS from Pratt Institute, an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College, a BA in English from Smith College, and an AA from Bard College at Simon's Rock.
