Kelvin Abraham Jr. is an experienced educator currently serving as an Elementary School Teacher at Our World Neighborhood Charter Schools since October 2022 and as a Math & Science Teacher at Ascend Public Charter Schools since August 2020. With a strong foundation in teaching, Kelvin has effectively utilized educational technology to enhance learning and developed tailored teaching programs that address diverse student needs. Previous roles include Mathematics Teacher at Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School and Direct Support Professional at YAI, where Kelvin supported adults with developmental disabilities. Prior to entering the education sector, Kelvin worked in sales management and as a car salesperson, demonstrating strong skills in customer service and sales strategy. Kelvin holds a Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury.

OWN Charter Schools are amazing places for young people to learn. Since our doors first opened, we have worked tirelessly to meet our goal of providing our diverse student body with an excellent education based on active inquiry, experiential learning, and social justice. We prepare our students to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners. I am so proud of the success and progress we have made so far, and no one is more aware than I how integral the support and encouragement of the OWN community has been in helping us grow and improve each and every year.
