Patrick D. Gerhardt, PharmD, CPGP

Patrick D. Gerhardt, PharmD, CPGP began their work experience in 2003 as a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens. Patrick D. then served as a Pharmacy Intern from 2006 to 2009 and later became a Staff Pharmacist. In 2009, they were promoted to Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens, where they oversaw pharmacy operations and achieved consistent sales growth and high employee engagement and customer satisfaction scores.

In 2017, Gerhardt joined Avella Specialty Pharmacy as the Lead Pharmacist for 503B Compounding, where they developed structures and strategies for daily operations and ensured compliance with sterility measures and regulatory guidelines.

Following their time at Avella, Gerhardt joined OptumRx|Avella in 2019 as the Director of Operations for 503B Compounding. In this role, they spearheaded the daily operations of a sterile-to-sterile compounding facility, leading a team of 50+ employees and overseeing production, visual inspection, fulfillment, warehousing, and shipping. Patrick D. also facilitated master batch record creation, process validation design, and process improvements in compounding. Additionally, Gerhardt held the role of Director of Operations at Optum Compounding Services, LLC during this time.

Currently, Gerhardt serves as the Vice President of Operations at OurPharma LLC, beginning in December 2020.

Patrick D. Gerhardt, PharmD, CPGP completed their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Midwestern University (AZ) from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they pursued Nutritional Science at the University of Arizona from 2005 to 2006. Patrick D. also completed Pre-Pharmacy courses at Glendale Community College from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, they pursued General Studies at Arizona State University in 2002-2003.

Patrick D. Gerhardt, PharmD, CPGP has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the Investigations and Corrective and Preventative Actions Web-Based Course from the FDA in May 2021, Airflow certification from the FDA in October 2020, CriticalPoint's 503B eLearning Course from CriticalPoint, LLC in May 2019. Patrick D. also obtained a Sterile compounding certification from PCCA in June 2017. Patrick D. holds an ASQ Certified Pharmaceutical GMP Professional certification from ASQ - World Headquarters, obtained in February 2023.

Additionally, Patrick D. Gerhardt, PharmD, CPGP holds various state-specific registrations as a pharmacist. Patrick D. is registered as a pharmacist in Arizona since July 2009, in Arkansas since June 2021, and in South Dakota since December 2017. Patrick D. is also an Arizona Preceptor Pharmacist certified by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy since January 2013. Moreover, they obtained an Arizona Immunization Certificate from the AZ State Board of Pharmacy in July 2009 and a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Red Cross in July 2009.
