John Daly is a highly experienced software engineer with a strong background in LiDAR technology and machine vision algorithms, currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Ouster since July 2021. Previously, John held senior engineering positions at Cepton and Quanergy, where responsibilities included developing tracking and classification algorithms and calibration procedures for LiDAR systems. John also contributed to sensor calibration algorithms at Neptec Technologies and worked on software development in various programming languages at JSI Telecom. With a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo and extensive experience in teaching and research, including a postdoctoral fellowship at Waterloo Autonomous Vehicles Laboratory, John has a diverse skill set in robotic systems and algorithm development.
