Jay has 20+ years of hands-on experience in digital marketing and e-commerce. Trained as both a research chemist and marketer (with a M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Missouri and an M.B.A from the University of Kansas), Jay jumped into the digital industry in 1995, when e-commerce was still in its infancy.
Having a science background deeply informs Jay’s passion as a digital marketer. As a former chemist, he understands the critical importance of testing (and re-testing) before deployment, deep data analysis, and resourcefulness in the clutch.
Jay’s venture capital-backed e-commerce startup, Cephas, grew to over $2.5M in revenue and built e-commerce websites for national brands, winning the IBM “National Business Partner of the Year” award in 1999.
