Shivanni M. is an experienced Development and Grants Program Manager at Outdoor Afro, where over 3.5 million dollars in operating funding has been secured from various grantors since August 2020. Prior to this role, Shivanni served as a Development Assistant and Tour Manager at Bay Area Green Tours, focusing on grant proposals for environmental education in underserved K-12 schools while mentoring development interns. Outdoor Afro is a national not-for-profit organization that celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature. What started as a kitchen table blog by Founder and CEO Rue Mapp in 2009 has since grown into a cutting-edge nationwide movement with 100-plus volunteer leaders in up to 60 cities. Our participation network has grown to reach 60,000 people and counting. Outdoor Afro reconnects Black people with the outdoors through outdoor education, recreation, and conservation.
