Outdoor Outreach
John O'Connell is currently working as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of San Diego and as a Field Instructor at Outdoor Outreach, where John manages outdoor trips for youth in the San Diego area. John previously served as a Wilderness Trip Leader at North Star Camp for Boys and has a background in lifeguarding and swim instruction. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of San Diego.

Outdoor Outreach is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to connect youth to the transformative power of the outdoors. Since our founding in 1999, Outdoor Outreach has served more than 20,000 young people through four core youth development programs: our Partner, Adventure Club, Military and Leadership programs.
