Krista Whitman has over 15 years of experience in addiction treatment and management. As the Assistant Vice President of Outpatient Services for the agency, she manages daily operations, program development and clinical culture. In this role, Whitman also ensures compliance to OASAS regulations as well as Outreach’s high level of quality standards.
Previously Program Director of Brentwood Outpatient Services at Suffolk Avenue, Whitman assisted in the development of specialized treatment services for women and growth of programming for Spanish-speaking clients. Additionally, she helped develop a forensic track to reduce relapse and criminal recidivism among clients who were formerly incarcerated. As a coordinator of the Suffolk County Re-Entry Task Force, she helped provide service linkages to new parolees and engaged state and local partners to provide benefits, services and community-level support.
Prior to joining Outreach, Whitman spent 10 years with the Pederson-Krag Center’s Addiction Recovery Services where she worked as a Chemical Dependency Counselor and then the Program Director. While there, she managed outpatient substance abuse treatment for a facility that catered to varying populations.
Whitman is a member of the Suffolk County Re-Entry Task Force, and received her Master in Social Work from SUNY at Stony Brook.
