Melissa Chan

Melissa Chan started their career as a Software Engineer Intern at Assemble Inc in July 2014, where they tested frontend implementation and used task runners for testing Node.js applications. In 2015, they joined 7MB Technologies as a Software Engineer, working on iOS/Android applications using Objective C, Java, and JavaScript. At the University of Washington Chinese Student Association, they served as the President, coordinating officer meetings and representing the organization to the university. Returning to Assemble Inc in 2016, Melissa held various roles such as Software Engineer, Technical Lead & Software Engineer, and Dev Manager & Software Engineer. In these positions, they developed and maintained full-stack web applications, collaborated with leadership teams on decision-making, and worked with technologies like Express.js, Docker, React, Ruby on Rails, and Backbone.js. Their most recent role is Senior Software Engineer at Outreach since June 2022.

Melissa Chan attended Robert A. Long High School from 2007 to 2011. Melissa did not receive a degree or major in any specific field during this time. Melissa then went on to attend the University of Washington from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
