Kara McDonough

Platform Integration Engineer at Outrider

Kara McDonough has a diverse work experience starting in 2017. Kara began as a laboratory student and research assistant at Colorado School of Mines. In 2018, they worked as a REU at the National Solar Observatory and continued their research assistant role at Colorado School of Mines. Kara also served as the Vice President of the Society of Women in Physics, Colorado School of Mines Chapter.

In 2019, Kara joined Ouster as a hardware engineering intern and later became a hardware engineer. Kara then took on the position of a product test engineer before leaving in April 2023.

Currently, Kara works at Outrider as a platform integration engineer, starting in May 2023.

Kara McDonough has a strong educational background in Engineering Physics. Kara received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines in 2019. In 2020, they pursued further studies and completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics at the University of Oregon.

In addition to their formal education, Kara McDonough obtained a certification in Product Management from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in September 2021.
