Zachary Moss

Senior Engineer, Field Support at Outrider

Zachary Moss began their professional career in 2003 as a Pharmacy Specialist for Monument Pharmacy, Inc. In 2004, they became an Engineering Technician for American Electric Vehicle. In 2010, they were hired as an Aquatics Director for the Armed Services Fitness Center, where they were also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified CSCS with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In 2012, Moss was hired as a K-12 Teacher for Colorado Springs Harrison District 2 Schools. In 2014, they became a Class A CDL Driver, Driver Trainer, and Safety Lead for Animal Supply Company. In 2019, they were hired as a Mechanical Technician and Class A CDL Heavy Haul Driver for New Holland Agriculture - Government & Fleet Sales. Most recently, in 2020, Moss was hired as a Senior Engineer, Field Support for Outrider. In this role, they provide remote and on-site support for Outriders fleet of autonomous electric yard trucks, and their responsibilities include base truck electrical, mechanical trouble shooting, and coordinating repairs and maintenance. Zachary also serves as a Senior Technician, Autonomous Vehicle Test Operations, where they manage 1st shift at the Outrider Advanced Testing Facility and completes complex debugging of software and hardware systems. Additionally, Moss is the Shift Lead Autonomous Vehicle Test Technician, where they coordinate and directs daily scheduling of vehicle testing, leads a team of test technicians and autonomous vehicle operators, and builds and designs test plans for developers. Zachary is also an Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator.

Zachary Moss has been pursuing a variety of educational opportunities since 2004. In that year, they obtained an Associate of Science degree in Aviation and Fire Science Technology from Aims Community College. Zachary then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy Studies from Colorado State University Pueblo in 2010. In 2013, they obtained a Certificate from Springs Truck Driving School for Class A CDL Training. In 2018, they obtained a Commercial Pilot License Training from The Flying School. In 2019, they began a Master's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology, General from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which they completed in 2022. That same year, they also attended Nucamp Coding Bootcamp for Computer Programming/Programmer, General and SAE International for Robotics for Autonomous Vehicle Systems Bootcamp. Zachary is currently a Cadet at SkyWest Pilot Cadet for Commercial Aviation. In addition, they have obtained numerous certifications from LinkedIn and other institutions.
