Ilias Abassi

Ilias Abassi currently serves as a Senior Associate and Lead Lawyer at DLA Piper, focusing on Privacy, Data, and AI since September 2016. Ilias has also held roles as an Associate and Junior Associate within the same firm, along with secondments as Legal Counsel at prominent companies such as Amazon, Fugro, and ARLANXEO, specializing in Privacy & Data Protection. Additionally, Ilias contributes to academia as a Lecturer in Privacy Law at Grotius Academie, and teaches courses on Technologies, AI, and Privacy at Outvie. Ilias has experience as a Guest Lecturer at institutions including Windesheim and Universiteit Utrecht. Academically, Ilias holds an LL.M. in Civil Law and an LL.B. in Dutch Law from Maastricht University, alongside advanced legal training from Grotius Academie and The Law Firm School.
