Nick Williamson

Outdoor Instructor at Outward Bound New Zealand

Nick Williamson has cultivated extensive experience in education and outdoor leadership. Since September 2015, Nick has worked at Outward Bound New Zealand, serving as both an Outdoor Instructor and Duty Manager. Prior to this role, Nick was a Primary School Teacher at St Clair Primary School from June 2011 to December 2013. Academic achievements include a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Primary) from the New Zealand Graduate School of Education (2010-2011) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Otago (2006-2010).

At Outward Bound our goal is simple: to unlock the potential in New Zealanders from all walks of life. From adults to young people in education or apprentices in the workplace, we aspire to show our participants what they are truly capable of achieving. To do so, we use the mountains, bush and waterways of the Marlborough Sounds as a catalyst for building character and cultivating life-long transferable skills. Through the challenge and adventure of an Outward Bound course, we’ve helped more than 70,000 Kiwis to push their boundaries, improve their resilience and ultimately, find their future direction. As a result, they return home with increased confidence, more capable at home, at school or in the workplace. As a non-profit learning and development organisation, we rely on the generosity of our donors to ensure the Outward Bound experience remains accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstance.
