Emi Palmor

Emi Palmor, born in Jerusalem and raised in Belgium, Norway and Argentina. He studied law at Hebrew University, became a member of the Israeli Bar in 1991. He worked as a civil servant in the Israeli Ministry of Justice, a prosecutor in the department of the State Attorney’s office of the Supreme Court at first, and became Director of the Department of Justice. Pardons. Between 2014 and 2019 Palmor served as Director General of the Ministry of Justice, developing innovative programs for employment diversity, advancing access to justice in digital services and platforms, and working toward improvement and reduction of regulation. He started educational projects for preventing online attack and protecting privacy for minors, and formed the country’s Anti-Racism Coordinating Government unit. In addition, he chaired national committees for the review and recommendation of policies to eliminate racism among Israelis from Ethiopia, for reducing the purchase of sexual services and to address the negative consequences of polygamy. For his long-standing contribution to advancing equality and coexistence between Israel’s Jewish and Arab citizens, Palmor was recognized as the Champion of Shared Society by Abraham Initiatives. He is currently an additional lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, teaching policy design, management and law, as well as as a strategic consultant and Chairman of the ‘Gesher’ Multicultural Film Fund. he chaired national committees for reviewing and recommending policies to eliminate racism among Israelis from Ethiopia, for reducing the purchase of sexual services and for addressing the negative consequences of polygamy.
