Royan Kamyar

CEO at Owaves

Royan Kamyar is the CEO of Owaves. Prior to Owaves, they were the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Sanitas Inc. from September 2010 to March 2012. Royan also served as Entrepreneur In Residence at the University of California, San Diego from July 2010 to April 2013. From September 2009 to September 2010, Kamyar was the Co-Founder and CEO of techseeds. Royan began their career as a Venture Capital Summer Associate at Burrill & Company from June 2009 to September 2009 and then as a Technology Transfer Analyst at SPAWAR from January 2009 to June 2009.

After completing a high school diploma at Cathedral Catholic High School, Royan Kamyar attended the University of California, Berkeley. There, they completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business. Royan then studied abroad at Saint Louis University - Madrid Campus, completing coursework in international business.

Kamyar then attended Baylor College of Medicine, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine degree. Royan completed a preliminary internal medicine residency (PGY-1) at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centres of New York before pursuing an ophthalmology elective at the University of Sydney.

Finally, Kamyar earned an MBA from the University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management, with a focus in entrepreneurship and health IT.
