Mechanical Utilities Engineering Lead at Owens Corning

Andrea Wong has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Andrea began their career as an R&D Seals Intern at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, where they reconstructed test beds, organized materials, and provided support for materials testing. Andrea then interned at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in the Propulsion Research & Technology Branch, working on thrust stand calibration. Following these internships, Andrea served as an Intern in the Quality Department at Cherry Aerospace, before joining California State University, Long Beach as a Graduate Research Assistant and later as a Graduate Student Assistant. In 2015, Andrea joined Sofidel S.p.A. as a Process Engineer, where they later became a Project Engineer responsible for installing equipment for process improvement in two greenfield paper mill integrated plants. Their most recent position was as a Senior Project Engineer at Sofidel S.p.A. In 2023, they joined Owens Corning as a Mechanical Utilities Engineering Lead.

Andrea Wong has a diverse education history. Andrea obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace Engineering from UC San Diego between 2006 and 2011. Continuing their education, they pursued a Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting at City College of San Francisco from 2011 to 2013. Later, they attended California State University, Long Beach from 2013 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. In December 2011, Andrea also obtained the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
