Michael Hobson

Michael Hobson has over 30 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design. Michael started their career at Watkins-Johnson as a Designer in 1982 and then worked at VARIAN as a Mechanical Designer from 1983 to 1986. Michael then joined Raychem/Tyco Electronics, where they started as a Sr. Mechanical Designer and was promoted to Design Engineer. During their time there, they worked on a variety of projects in interconnect, databus, telecommunications, sealing technologies, and automotive circuit protection devices. In 1995, they relocated to North Carolina for two years to transfer the telecommunications product line. From 2000 to 2006, they worked at Novellus Systems as a Mechanical Engineer II and Sr. Mechanical Designer, contributing to the development of the 300MM Copper PVD and PreClean Modules. In 2006, they completed the design and product development of a Semiconductor Wafer Process Tool at Blue29, which was then sold to LAM Research. Michael then worked as a CAD Design Engineer at Zelos Consulting, providing design and manufacturing solutions to various companies. In 2007, they joined Miasole as a Design Engineer, where they worked on the design of automated equipment used to manufacture solar panels. In 2012, they worked at Aerotek / VALIN as a CAD Design Engineer, designing equipment and solutions across multiple industries. In 2013, they joined Valin Corporation as a Design Engineer, specializing in Bosch conveyor, structural framing, and motion products, and designing turnkey equipment for various companies. Most recently, since 2017, they have been working at Owens Design as a Mechanical Engineer.

Michael Hobson attended the College of San Mateo from 1980 to 1982 and obtained an AA/AS degree in Drafting Technology. In addition to their degree, they also hold certifications as a Certified Bosch Conveyor Designer, obtained in October 2012, and as a Certified Printed Circuit Designer from Copper Connection, obtained in July 2000.
