Paul Rogel-Herrera has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Technical Lead at Owens Design. In this position, they serve as Engineering's representative to Manufacturing, assisting with builds, troubleshooting, and field installation. Paul is skilled in electro-mechanical technical functions, such as design, test, fabrication, and assembly of electronics and systems.
Prior to Owens Design, Paul worked as an Engineering Technician at the same company. During this time, they designed and fabricated a force sensor attachment to improve the spring adjustment in an industrial 3D printer-robot. Paul also created a new table alignment procedure using a Modified Bisection Method.
Additionally, Paul has interned at ADVANTEST (EUROPE) GMBH as a Design Engineering Intern. In this role, they designed an adapter kit to streamline a task for manufacturing technicians and created assembly drawings in Creo Elements/Direct Drafting.
Before that, Paul interned at Advantest, where they designed and tested a waveguide cover, developed a docking plate model for thermal simulation of ICs, and provided drawings for parts using GD&T.
Overall, Paul Rogel-Herrera has gained valuable experience in engineering, design, fabrication, and problem-solving through their roles at multiple companies.
Paul Rogel-Herrera attended Santa Clara University from 2015 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications. In August 2020, they completed the "Modern Robotics, Course 1: Foundations of Robot Motion" from Coursera Course Certificates. Paul also obtained the "Simulink Onramp" certification from MathWorks in August 2020. In July 2020, they earned a certification in "SLAM, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping" from IEEE Educational Activities Certificates. Other certifications include "MATLAB Onramp" from MathWorks in May 2020 and "Sensors for Autonomous Vehicles" from IEEE Educational Activities Certificates in September 2019. Apart from their academic pursuits in engineering, Paul also obtained an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in March 2022.
